Why Hand-Drawn Matters

Batik tulis is centuries-old art. Painstaking work done by women in Madura who draw each line by hand using hot wax. Each piece takes 4 to 8 hours to make, which means no two are identical.

The Dyeing Process

Each color is applied separately. The fabric is soaked in the dye bath, then dried. This cycle repeats for each color layer. Because the batik is hand-dyed, colors may run. This is natural to the process.
