Our Ethical Journey

At Dots and Dribble, we believe in a thoughtful approach to fashion. Our mission is to share the beautiful art of batik while ensuring our brand grows with a strong ethical foundation.

Our Batik Sourcing

Our early collections are lovingly sourced from a network of small, independent brands and artisans in Indonesia. We select each piece based on its unique design and quality.

While we are not directly involved in their production process, we can speak to the nature of hand-stamped batik itself:

  • Hand-Stamping is a Slow, Artisan Process: Batik is a craft, not a factory process. The intricate patterns are created by hand-stamping wax onto fabric, a meticulous and time-consuming method. This work cannot be mass-produced in a factory setting. Every single piece is a testament to the skill and dedication of the artisans who create it.
  • The Mark of Authenticity: The beautiful, natural imperfections—such as the subtle "crackle" effect in the dye—are a direct result of the handmade process. This is the authentic mark of a hand-stamped batik.

We're proud to support these local brands and artisans, bringing their unique creations to you.

Our Indonesia Manufacturers

For our next collection, we're proud to partner with a family-run manufacturer in Indonesia that has been a leader in textile production for over four decades.

We've personally verified their positive working conditions, ensuring our garment makers are treated with the respect and care they deserve.
